I'm thinking for selling as its not getting used (any ideas what its worth??)
I built it a year an half ago its done less than 500 miles since
Mot till 10th june 2019

Some info................
td5 galvanised chassis painted with black stone chip & has cold galvanising paint over that
300tdi, engine recon with new rings,shells,full new complete head
all new brakes,calipers,discs,shoes hand brake, all new brake pipes.
Borg & beck clutch & heavy duty fork, crank seal seams to have a leak even after replacing it
(fkn sh!te idea anyhow)
Axles all done, new wheel bearings (Timken) basically everything was done,
new seats,full light set led fog & reverse & ignition switch/ cowals & stocks
new wipers & arms,doors,locks,strikers
New seat box panels,new split doors, mirrors, recovered head lining & some new seat box carpet
1 New swivel & both swivel kits done plus new cv joints, heavy duty steering arm
New ball joints & Terrafirma wheels & alloy storage boxes it the tub
prob loads more but that's all I can think of atm

Not trying to be critical, just truthful and realistic ... ;)

Is the cage to competition/ALRC spec and connected with spreader plates to the chassis?

I don't think I'd spend more than 4 - 5k on an admittedly pretty, but basic, '86 Landrover unless it's something special. All your new bits mostly just amount to freshening it up a bit and aren't stuff that's added to the value much, to my mind, as they are all mostly maintenance parts and pretty much necessities to running well ... or have been done to meet MOT standards! Replacing brake parts and other stuff is just a normal process we all have to go through, so to me it doesn't matter whether they're new or old, so long as they work properly. When they're new it just says to me they needed replacing ... ;) I'm currently (Mine's a 1989 90, but also 300Tdi engine) replacing my seatbox, other chassis and body stuff and a newer Transfer box, but wouldn't expect, however much money and time I've spent on it, that the changes will add to it's value, just it's reliability.

If someone offers more, I suggest you bite their hands off.

PS, I like the storage boxes, where are they from?

I appreciate your reply & I did build it to be reliable hence why I replaced just about
every mechanical part not due to wear & tear.....just because I could & I didn't see the
point of fitting old parts back on & also basic as its easier & cheaper maintain. The cage is a north off road with spreader plates to the front & rear, I have 5mm steel brackets/box section for the centre supports which I was going to get galvanised but I haven't been near the galvanisers to drop them off.
The rear boxes were home made just copied from internet pics.

Ive seen heeps of cr@p sell for 4k+ the prices are all over the place o_O
 
probably around the 8-10k mark, you dont metion if it has mot and the mileage

Yes fresh mot expires 10 June 2019 51,400 miles & im the 3rd owner.
1st owner was a company vehicle from new which was a plumbers in Stirling
2nd owner never driven it just took it apart in his garage & put it in boxes :rolleyes:
3rd owner me built it & put a new lease of life in the old girl :D

As it's a full rebuild I'd say my estimate was probably low, then. I was thinking it had all new parts 'cos they'd broken or worn out during use .. but having read your post again, you did say you built it! My bad ... ;)

£7k + ... but certainly not less than £5k
 
It does look very tidy and well cared for, obviously a lot of good work gone into that, but not overdone.

I would say about £5,500 to £6,500. But if you took it to the Home Counties, or the oil belt in North East Scotland, you might get another grand on top of that.
