One other thing to be aware of, the D2 is great and very capable off road. But they do feel quite bulky and it's the body work at most risk. The long front and rear overhangs can cause issues off road too. I'd probably opt for an aftermarket tube type bumper for the front.
Spot on comment here.
Rock/tree sliders a must imho.
Tubular front bumper gives the best approach angle, but I've not got hung up at the front yet.
Main issue is the rear overhang, I've crushed one exhaust already (lots of people side exit the exhaust). I'm on 32 inch tyres with a 2 inch lift and have HD bumpers front and back. I've clattered the rear a number of times at Tong. I know a lot of people say avoid D2's with the rear air suspension but I'd say make sure you get one with it, the offroad extra height button is priceless - my coil sprung version simply can't do that.
Next best but vastly more expensive option is to got to 35 inch tyres/4+ inch lift, but then you can expect all the associated driveline issues, bust diffs, broken shafts, CV's etc. Gets costly upgraded all that stuff.
