I knew that I would have to cut at least one of the arms back further than the spring seats so I couldn't mount my jig on to them; so yeah, it does look a tad robust!
After cutting off the cross member, the LH chassis arm looks to be in good nick, the RH one is the crap one, I think I'll have to cut back to the shock mount. Clive has said to make sure I stagger the cuts in the chassis arm/s so that my welds aren't all at the same point. I'll look to overlap the chassis plates to the existing good chassis by a good amount, at least on the first plate where I can weld the inner and outer. Obviously won't be able to weld the inner face on the second plate if you understand what I mean.
Clive has got some decent photos on his FB page, well worth a look if you do FB. I don't but my dog is on there - it's a long story...
