tried britpart, but been let down by lack of any discernable quality. so don't use them anymore...

been known to renage on above statement when times is hard :)

like previous posters, depends on the job... wouldn't be wanting to install britpart valves in the engine for example (if they do 'em)

they do, and I've got a 200 in the shed that's been wrecked due to the peeps who charged the owner a lot of money to rebuild it using Bpart valves, the head of one departed from it's stem and tried mating with the top of a piston

A couple of weeks ago I picked a B&B clutch up for the disco, on the way home realize forgot spigot , go back, in a rush now, get spigot and throw it in the door pocket.

Guess what, britpart fookin spigot  , need it today so it's got to go in .

Even ****epart can't fook a lump of phosphor bronze up.......... can they ?

Generally, good to avoid. Saying that, some of their stuff is Genuine Part such as RV8 GEMS flywheels costing £100 less that the one at the dealer.

Problem is people see the price and think 'well a filter is a filter init'. Or 'Well Paddocks are selling pads for £10 so why are yours £25'. I'm tempted to say 'Mine work' but the customer is always right.

From what I've seen, Allmakes4x4 is the better of the 3. Their Terrafirms stuff is really nice and cheap for the quality it is.

This is great, makes me feel all warm inside as there's nothing on the Disco that has ever been in a ****part box.

But then I lucky the father-in-law has an account with allmakes or gets stuff trade from the local Landrover dealer so everything I get is either genuine or from Allmakes.

Brother-in-law couldn't even get a Britpart box to burn so he could start a fire that's how **** it is.

Have worked for britpart and from my experience would not touch any of their parts with a 40 foot pole. I was always staggered working there how they could get away with such low quality parts. Even the employees wont use most of their stuff on thier own vehicles. Having previously come from the aeropace and nuclear manufacturing industry the lack of any sort attention to quality makes me glad to be no longer working there. It realy is the lowest of the low. AVOID at all costs. Take it from someone who knows

yea get the same at work....."yea but bosch rally spec fuel pump is xx price on thiefbay etc.. they never consider the quaility or where the part originates from.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I won't touch the stuff, its all cheap and crappy. Slave cylinders that only last a few days, my mate had TWO brake masters on in as many days, my ujs all failed after less than 3500 miles, I wouldn't touch em for brakes...might consider em for, say, body panels but even then unlikely. There are plenty of decent bits out there for reasonable prices so really little need to buy em at all.

I don't use it as a rule, it does double the cost buying OEM but you get what you pay for.

I'm interested as i'm building the 200TDi from the very beginning, most parts require replacing etc, crank bearing, pistons + bearings and Turner Engineering sell the replacement parts at a reasonable price, but what if i fitted Britpart? If ( i use it loosely ) they were to fail ( highly likely ) then how would Britpart deal with this? Does anyone have any experience of them replacing parts and/or those other parts affected?

If a brake cylinder fails, suspension etc and causes an accident, how would they deal with it? Plenty of people complain but has anyone claimed from Britpart for the loss of vehicle or multiple items?

As for garages fitting Britpart, they should state before and on the receipt what they are doing as fitting sub standard parts negates their work.

I fitted a Britpart prop donut to my 300tdi when there was no oe in stock and the donut i was using looked badly split. It lasted less than 3 weeks and looked worse than the one that was taken out so I went back to the dealer and there were a couple of similar claims but it was blamed on the prop splitting the donut. I probably could have carried on with the claim but it was less than a tenner and i have a good relationship with the dealer so didnt bother rocking the boat too much.

Main thing i noticed is the rubber seems a lot stiffer than oe and more likely to split under load.

There is a garage i was speaking to the other day who will only fit britpart, im pretty sure he believes it is oe stuff. I was talking to him about a clutch and after asking why I ordered AP he went on to say about valeo being crap and hd lasting longer.

I do not rate them at all and will only use them if there is nothing else but would look to replace asap.

It would do the media of landrover a lot of harm to do independent tests on OEM verses aftermarket but a hell of a lot of people would appreciate it.

I fitted a Britpart exhaust on my 300 Tdi and it seemed to be of a good gauge steel and it fitted well, just had 2 nuts missing from one clamp and for under £70 I was well happy
