Britpart - ****part is pure pish!!!! And that's talkin' from experience! Everything ah've used from them has failed within' a short period of time.. not good and ah'll certainly never use thum again!:mad:;):D
 
i buy Britpart, as i run my landy on a shoestring and it suits my budget, if the part fails, i'll just replace it, like lots of other people who buy patented parts, it might not be cost effective in the longrun, but this is how far my budget for parts stretch, after all the genuine parts aint that reliable either.

in a nutshell, they are just unreliable cars, even when serviced regulary, you still get leccy gremlins, rust much more than most other cars, and require attention on a regular basis just to get fair use out of them.

but don't ya just love em' !!!!!!!!!! :)

i like working on me landies but not that much :D
had a clutch slave cylinder from um few years back last just iover 12 months so get a girling 1 still there now:rolleyes:

Aye;) The last ****part thing ah got (only 'cos there was nowt else) was me clutch master cylinder.. and that packed up within a matter o' months:mad:

i suppose the up side is that the nuts, bolts ect. won't be as rusted and easier to get off than the originals :D

I do look at the forum and read alot about the ****part "debate" i will only usually buy Britpart stuff that is not a pain in the ass to replace,so if it does go prematurely it's not a hassle to replace, but will take notice if a particular part is mentioned to fail frequently from them

Don't you believe it! But then again, a smear o' copper grease on appropriate bolts wouldn't go a miss;)

For non-critical & service components i use Britpart, otherwise brake parts and engine internals i try for OEM or bearmach. I did get a timing chain for a 3.9 v8 in a rangie, took it out of its box, one look, and went back in its box!, It Just didnt look up to the job.
 
I'd love to know how ****part haven't been in trouble with trading standards. I think that if I ever sell my landy I'm gonna advertise it as 'no britpart parts fitted to this vehicle'. It should double its value.:cool:
 
I just ordered a windscreen washer pump from an on line spares company, it was 5 quid cheaper but I didn't realise it was ****part, when it turned up today I found out. It's fitted so lets see how long it lasts!

having bought ****part before i would NEVER buy it again, i would rather wait weeks and not drive the disco while i saved up for genuine parts than fit ****part again
 
I bought a fog light for my series III from this bunch of jokers. Not only did it look little like the original, it was so poorly manufactured that it didn't even work.

Taking it apart, I found that nothing had been soldered and one of the wires was just wrapped round the spring for the bulb and not even tightly.

Total waste of money. I'd had a crap clutch slave cylinder from them before but I assumed they couldn't possibly get something like this wrong.

Wouldn't buy anything else from them.
 
I've used Britparts on Ruby (front and rear shocks, fuel filter, oil filter) can't say that the shocks are bad... but then I've not done much off road since fitted, fuel filter didn't last long... but hey it was veg oil gelling in the cold that done that in... coopers one has been on for about 10 months now!

their parts must be made to meet original spec, but I suppose not necessarily OEM quality...

If you can afford the extra money for better 'quality' parts then in the long run I suppose it may be more cost effective if the part lasts longer. however if you need your wheels on the road then you do it a cheaply as possible and for some that may mean Britpart... each to their own... I'm sure there are people have bought better quality parts only to have then fail unexpectedly early.
 
I fit Brit parts ( well the mech does) it suits me as i dont use the Disco off road at all, if i did i would proberly need to upgrade.
