Hi all! Bought our Freelander (TD4 2001) with 97k miles a couple of years ago. After nearly 30k of hassle free driving - apart from a split hose- I now seem to have the dreaded fuel pump problem: Didn't start on the first turn then, when it did the car ran for about 5k before breaking down.
After getting a mate to tow me back I had a quick check of all the fuses (again) then gave the pump a few taps after which it started up..... I think the pump is the problem?
Two questions:
Has anyone recently bought a genuine replacement part?
Has anyone fitted one, and was it much of a hassle to replace?
Any help appreciated.
