I int busted it!!!!! Well, not proper like. The wires got stuck in the tubey bit. Duff welder I say. Gonna tek it back un get a re-fund.
hb ave you welded it yet? if not I can sort out your settings of the mig for yer
The wire has got stuck because 1/wire speed too slow 2/voltage setting too high resulting in burn back 3/incorrect angle of welding nozzle to job 4/ no anti spatter spray used on tip. To release wire 1/ remove outer shroud revealing tip 2/ unscrew tip along with wire that is stuck 3/ on wire feed area within welder slacken off the wire adjuster to allow a little movement of the wire between the rollers 4/pull out a bit of wire with the tip attached (where it is stuck) and cut off an inch or so 5/ work the wire with a pair of pliers to release from tip 6/rebuild in reverse.
Anybody that takes the plunge to try welding for the first time without having anybody stood over advising is definately one of this worlds triers and need applauding, good on yer HB for trying
Wot a top girl!
Go for it, just reading your exploits makes me smile.
As Stig says its not the sort of thing you do with out a bit of help.
As for you feeding wire you must be careful to cut the wire off clean without any burs, or it will damage your PTFE liner and you need to keep your wire from rusting or it will not feed cleanly.
