Yer need to wind in the fuel regulator that yer throttle cable is attached to. When you press accelerator it lets more fuel in, just need it tweaking to stop overfuelling.

Dunt ask me how to do it, got a 200TDi 'ere :D

Awww am not unnerstandin!! But thanks anyway!

Get some else in the driver's seat whil you look under the bonnet at the driver's side of teh engine.

Tell your friend to press the throttle pedal (that's the go-faster right hand pedal) up and down and keep doing it till you see the little lever that goes back and forward as the pedal goes up and down.

There should be a little adjustable bolt at each end of where the lever goes.

When you friend lets the throttle pedal UP, the little lever should be leaninmg against the end of one of the little bolts.

Like, touching it.

If it isn't, you will need to loosen the actual cable adjuster till it does.

Then get back to us.

This is enough for one day.

Awww thankyou CharlesY! I like the way you writid it in BLONDE!!!:) Will ave a go at 'phase 1' tomoz an get back to you...

Nope !
Cos i wunt av a clue wot yer wus sayin t me, cos yer all talk funny darn thur !;)

ho ho - yu will know wot it was like fur me then - 2 days int a furrin land - needed a fookin interpreter, (lucky i had one - at least he talked slow - maybe he thought i was simple;))

if its overfueling surely it just needs more boost from the turbancharger more fuel + more air = more power = more fun (p.s. check the air filter i have seen cars overfuel due to a cloged one)

Aye, its quite nippy as it is BUT...The point of me 'turning it down' is to get it throught the emmisions test on me MOT. After which I will probl'y turn it back up. As it stands, it failed miserably.:(

put some veg oil in yer tank (obvioulsy only if its a diesel) apparently that confuses the emmisions machine

more boost means cleaner burn means lower emitions (i convinced a green activist that me tuning my engine (old sierra) was good for the enviroment with this arguement baffel them with science)

or when the MOT guy starts the retest have an argument with the voices along the lines of "NO" "look i wont kill him" "i cant" "i don't want to" and so on

The fact remains that it is highly probable the fault can be cured by taking the lid off the manifold boost pressure compensator on the injection pump, and then carefully cleaning and freeing off the diaphragm and bits and bobs, and put the lid back on.

Worth a look. Costs nothing .,...
