Hi. New to the forum so hopefully in the right area!?
My name is Richard and I have a [51] plate Td4 Freelander. The tailgate door would not open recently so I checked various forums and came across a solution whereby you disconnect the battery, leave for 1 minute, reconnect and all should be fine as part of the ECU sync. I did this and yes the tailgate door opened and the glass dropped by an inch to clear the main body of the car however, when I went to shut the tailgate the glass does not go up into the recess to create a watertight seal.
I have tried various options such as reconnecting battery, locking and unlocking doors but to no avail.
With the ignition on, when I push the window down button I get a number of repetitive 'beeps' and nothing when I push it into the 'up' position.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated as the old girl is getting a bit wet now.
