Hi, I'm doing some paint repairs and need to take the rear fog light off - given that I can't get the nuts off from the inside and that replacments are cheap, i'm going to enjoy butchering it off for a change.
It's a '99' td5 with rectangular lights and i was wondeing if anyone knew if the round style will fit, using the same screw holes?
Any advice greatly appreciated, as always.
Cheers
Andy

lol ^^^^^

Im going to be doing this soon as i currently dont have a rear fog light due to a hi lift jack being mounted there. Im going to change the reverse light also as i think it will look a little odd with one being rectangular and one being round.

Ill keep my eye on this.

Post piccies wont cha? we like piccies. :D

I've done it, from what I remember the normal center hole is fine, but all you need to do is drill other ones for the new screws, so at the worst it's two holes to drill :D

Just been out to have a look :D Don't think the existing screws will work, You can see from the picture that the (Imagine a clock) '1:30' and '7:30' holes are being used, unless the TD5 rectangle rear lights have the same fixing method, this is on my 1992 Defender. You Can't see any evidence that it has been drilled, I put waxoyl in the old holes to help stop any corrosion, btw I have twin fogs and reverse lamps :D

Hope this helps Andy

Dave

Thanks guys/Dave!
Sounds straight forward enough - I'll get it ordered!
Just finished a days work on that Landy and my hands are trashed - i'm gonna soak them in something warm :)

Well - fitted the light today! The centre hole was way too small so i had to grind out a new one (which didn't feel right, even though you can't see it) drilled the 2 new screw holes, but now need a connector and wire as the old one was just wired straight to the old fog light! Don't know where I'll get one of these from? any suggestions welcome!

i have a made up cable adapter if yu want at work. saves you buying the tooling to make it;)

We make the two wire and the three wire versions..... Plug to bullet connectors...

Thanks Mad Hat Man, When I read this, I'd already ordered new connectors from the guy I bought the light from, otherwise, would have taken you up on the offer.
Thanks again.

Albinoni,

Can you post the ebay kit you used please?

I need to do this really as my MOT is due soon. My fog light is just 2 bare wires though so i dont think ill need an adaptor. Ill just bare back the wires from the reverse light aswell.

Thanks

Matt
