Stripped nut - how do I save my shock?

Not sure what motor OP has, but shock mounts on mine unbolt from the chassis?
No idea how you managed to get the thing in that state, but it should be replaceable,

Never had one, but the shock mounts on a Ninety unbolt, three bolts into the chassis IIRC. So do the A Frame brackets on the chassis member. I think this was done away with later, dunno about the shock mounts.

Upper shock mount on the rear is the same... 3 bolts.

This is the lower shock mount, so through the hole in the Salisbury axle.

Just run a die over it, and put a new nut on. It will either hold or it wont, if it doesn't you will have to get new rear shocks.

Shock already replaced. Bought a pair anyone, so for multiple spares now.

Must admit, I dont really read tech freds, after 35 years the underside of a landrover loses its appeal!
