Ouch Front headliners are expensive

I'm replacing the rotten fabric on my 110s headliners. The middle and rear sections were easy as they had foam backed versions of the fabric, but the cab section is some fibre backed material that is stuck on very firmly. I wanted to change it because it looks crap with all sorts of nicks and scratch marks in it. It's a real pain to remove, and in places is taking some of the GRP with it. It's soul destroying work.

So time is money and I have a sense of my value of time. So I looked on the net at just getting a replacement section. Now, in typical sods law fashion, my vehicle has the front light at the rear of the cab headliner. All replacements I can see on line have the light at the front. So my question is, how easy is it to retro fit a front lamp mount? Would it require putting holes in the roof for rivets?

I believe the part number is awr2736luh, which according to the following link is c£1500!!!!!!! awr2735luh for the 90 is a grand less, but I thought the front headliners for the 90 and 110 were the same...

Or maybe the headliner with the light at the front is strong enough to support the light? Can someone confirm this? I'm not opposed to spending £250 to save me all the effort.

Cheers, Ben

Have you looked at LaSalle headlining? They’re much cheaper than the JLR ones (still not cheap though!) but look ok.

Edit- just seen that 90 headlining are similar to the LaSalle ones!
