Strange odometer behaviour

The odometer on my 1983 90 has frozen at 250k. Speedo and trip working fine. I havent reset the trip since I purchased it a few months ago and shows I have covered 450 miles, however the odometer seems to have jumped from 197k to its present state of stuck at 250k.
I'm baffled !

What an idiot am I ! It is working and reading 205000 not 250000 ! Teach me to attempt to read the dials without my glasses !!
