Springs back to bags questions need answering !!!!

Now that the gearbox issue has been fixed on my 99 Range, i would like to try and covert her back to bags from the springs its now running, i know how you lot hate coils !!. After a quick look i have the compressor, the switchgear, the air lines and tank. I know i will need new bags and height sensors and it seems that it has not been butcherd but taken out cleanly. switch altering height has no illumination when played with but the towing facility switch illuminates when activated. On start up the message eas in manual mode appears and after a few seconds of noise go;s out. What can i and how do i check the basics on the system to see what needs repairing or replacing without ripping half the car apart. Im ok with a set of spanners but please do not fry my brains with ohms readings and out put readings as i have no idea what the hell you are on about, basically anyone who understands electrics are wizards and should be burnt in a public market square while us mortals drink vessels of ale and throw rotten eggs at you !!!!!

Perhaps not the best way to start a thread on EAS as, if your wish comes true, all the people capable of steering you through the conversion will be nothing but very bad full English breakfasts!

If it worked properly it would still be fitted.
I have the same problem with mine, everything is still there except the bags.
I have been watching for a set of used bags on ebay as it seems to be the only way to test the system properly is with it running. Big expense new bags, height sensor or two and then you have to fix the original problem. Then you need the cable, software and an old computer to run it. I would still like to get it on air as that is the way it was meant to be.

Are the height sensors not still under there?

Diagram is in RAVE. IIRC there will be a compressor, a valve-block with driver pack on the back, a dryer, a reservoir under the driver's seat under the car, 4 bags and 4 height sensors. You'll need a laptop, the free EAS software from Storey Wilson and a cable from Datatek to connect to the laptop. You'll probably need some soapy water, maybe some spare airline (get mine from Activ-Air), maybe 4 straight connectors to Schrader valves for troubleshooting.

Oh, they'll be an EAS ECU under the passenger seat and a delay timer relay. You may need to redo the connectors down by the A-post too.

I too thought about converting back to air but don't think my brain or pocket could stand the strain unfortunately, so staying with springs , but good luck hope you manage it ,mick.
