It develops so much more power, honestly mate it is worlds apart from dizzy + 14cux

Mainly because the timing is accurate, then because the spark is fat (I have increased the plug gap by 0.2mm also!) and also because I can now run target AFR and tune the engine with performance in mind.

It is easier said than done writing your own fuel maps believe me, but you can squeeze more economy out of the motor too if you are careful with your igntion advance.

Me personally will be happy to cruise at 14.5-15:1 AFR which is lean enough for cruise and plenty safe/cool, but I can now run a guaranteed 12.5-12.8:1 WOT mixture and super lean on overrun, which saves lots of fuel. Popping and banging on 14cux was awesome going downhill but it was literally pouring petrol into the exhaust, not ideal.

It really is a different story on MS, no more jerky hesitant running, just smooth dependable power.

Will do an underwater video one day, planning to submerge the engine and fire it up but need to sort out a breather pipe for the power steering reservoir first!

Sounds like you've got yourself a good setup, look forward to seeing videos!

Good to hear you MS system is up and working well. I'm using tuner studio although up to now only bench tested.

I just need a descent lamda sensor before I fit it all in. With my throttle bodies I have built, I should be getting an easy 180bhp at the wheels on a standard blacktop Zetec.

I would like another V8. Saw a nice truck today and the sound was awesome on open stainless system.

Have just been talking about Tunerstudio on LR4x4, think I'm going to give it a look at, costs about £31 i think.

Seeing as we like a good amount of off topic, lets get some of your kit car pics up!! :)

I have the free tunerstudio at it seems fine, just no fancy dashboards. Here's a couple of pics of the yet unnamed kitcar.

Drove it out the garage

An hour later it was like this.

Then the Zetec needed an amended sump so I did that.

Then a trial fit once the chassis cross tube was cut out to enable it to fit.

A lot of work later and we are here. Amendments to the front end to create an actual scuttle panel too.

There are loads of photos which I will be placing on my website as the Zetec conversion needs to be documented properly IMO.

Just need to trim the dash and make up the exhuast and then it can be run.

 Think i found my next toy!

Cheers guys, another thread sometime perhaps lol.........

So what's next after the flashing lights Mr N?

Ah ha! The man he tempts fate!

Well, apart from a teeny purchase of a couple of 7" led light bars for use as work lights which were kindly located at a most reasonable price direct from china through a group buy on LR4x4, I am most inclined to say there is actually NOTHING more that my disco needs!

Somewhat relieved yet somewhat disappointed to say that, bit of an anticlimac to come to the end of a 3 year rolling project.

Just need to decide whether I should waste any more cash on the car or not basically.

Hydro-steer would, however, be nice.

Yeah will get some decent pics up when it's "pretend finished"

The roof light bar is great, I hate the four lamp ones and although I wanted one I couldn't stand the aestethics but I was just browsing mm4x4 and saw this in the new products section and it was an immediate purchase.

It is no good for high speed driving cos it illuminates the bonnet so you lose your contrast, but for lanes it is wonderful, get 180 degree illumination :D
