Right... finally got the new tank in, new fuel sender, return pipework, hoses, also fitted a new lift pump new hoses between filterhead etc and a new filter. Also refurbed an injection pump and fitted that too. Started up and ran an absolute treat so I was very pleased.
Was all working tickerdy boo until i took it on a short run to Kilmarnock it suddenly started getting loads of air in the fuel lines after the lift pump (clear hoses so i could see whats what)
At first i was thinking fuel hoses, managed to find a friendly garage in Loganswell which let me have some tools and 5m of fuel hose so i replaced it all. Seemed to work....
Then it started going wrong again....
This time i just bypassed the lift pump and filter and plumbed the fuel hose directly to the injection pump. Sat merrily at over 70 all the way home.
So home... bastid new lift pump was the culprit. New one fitted and problem cured. Wasnt even a Britpart one! Anyway its all working great now. Off to Devon in it on Sunday to start a new contract. So I shall be commuting from Scotland to Devon every week in the 130 hahahahahah!!!
Fitted an outlander roof console (same as I have in my 110) as it was cheap at £40. Nice to have the extra lights inside for the kids etc and its a bit of extra storage space for all the crap one invariably carries.
Also a metal snorkel has gone on as we had quite a bit of flooding here last winter and dont want it swamped!
Winch is finally hooked up too. Must fit some winch control switches inside the cab rather than relying on the remote.
Ive purchased a canopy for it from darn sarf, and a full length 130 roof rack, Ill pick them up one evening whilst I am down in Devon.
Will be needing some comfy seats me thinketh! Will also be making some side mounted long range fuel tanks for it (130 extended tanks seem rather limited in their suppliers) I have some tree sliders / steps to go on already I have just been a lazy sod and not got around to it.
Will also be fitting air suspension all round. The oem heavy duty set up is back breaking and rattles the vehicle something awful going up and down our lane. Air suspension will help with picking up trailers etc too. Will be making it so its 3" taller than stock so I can fit some 33" tyres.
Also wants the usual cranked rear arms, 3 degree camber swivels, double cardon front propshaft, already have a set of twin shock towers which will accommodate the air bags, all round terrafirma big bore shocks (I am a big fan of these dampers and its what I run on my 110csw)
Not sure if I am going to fit smart car seats all round or a discovery seat conversion. But want something comfy and heated.
Smaller steering wheel on order, I have a set of of Verken Led side repeaters ready to go on which I will do when I get some wider arches on it.
Will also be slipping a puma bonnet on it as the current one is pretty rotten and well.... why not.
'Leccy window conversion and central locking it going on it as well.
I guess I should really fit a bigger intercooler on it, although to be fair it goes well as it is! But itll help, and Ill fit an electric fan to remove the viscous one as I like having the extra room in the engine bay this offers. Twin alternator and extra battery will be wanted too as we are starting to use big inverters off the battery when we go to events so I need some extra juice.
After all that!.... paint.. gloss black...
