You'll find they're also expensive but then I am doing it professionally.
The cheapie I have is an ebay purchase & I've had a play with it for colour, clear & topcoats & it does the job, but not good as the Iwata (LPH80) or Sata.
It's a Voylet HVLP gravity fed H-2000 1.0 set-up which I bought to use with primer.
Given the choice of rattle can or spraygun I'll go spraygun every time BUT I do use U-Pol's Acid8 aerosol etch primer on aluminium. Problem with cans is they can spit & you then have a blob to deal with.
Do like the finish on that
Thks
Fantastic as always getting such fantastic advice and help , most appreciated
Perfect , is this it plse

That’s was really my attention when I got the air compressor , for small air tools , making it easier to take wheels off and also being able to spray small panels on the landy
Can have a proper read of the links and also what different paints are etc etc
Is this the one please
It's the way they operate. The gun is adjustable, cans aren't.
Many motor factors will do paint to order in a spraycan & it's the same as you would buy to use with the gun.
You CAN get 2k clear in a can - I've seen cans where you press a button & the hardener then mixes with the lacquer but once mixed you have a limited time use window. Never used one so can't say if they're any good.
As said, prep is everything. Filler needs sanding smooth, any pinholes dealt with & then primed. The primer then needs sanding or you'll get a 'fried egg' effect round the edge of the filled area. Guide coat - I use 3M's dry black powder - will reveal low spots & pinholes.
Yes.
Thks for the link, would that be ok for wheel arch trims, , bumpers etc, Plse
As @brian47 was just suggesting about using a hobby air gun for the handles , which does indeed make sense there seeing it being a lot smaller and easier to get coverage through small amounts of multiple layers
Indeed ur so right ref taking time preparing the panels, I done some filler years ago on my herald and thought it looked ok until I put a primer on it, it looked aweful and realised how much time it takes to get it looking just right
That’s what I thought with my compressor but should be ok for trims, bumpers, etc
Yes that’s what I’ve also done , building up thin layers , but never mastered it with spray cans of the final finish , taken plenty of time and no runs, just not the same , assume the paint that u mix up is of a higher quality over spray cans or the way the spray gun is able to apply the paint
Ur landy does look awesome and bet ur really proud after all ur hard work,
Need some bubble wrap on that for supermarket carparks, I would be frightened to take that out because it looks so nice
I always sit in it when im in a car park
I think if you got a couple of old panels to practice on you would get a decent finish if you
put it on too heavy & get a run you can always wet flatten it & polish it or re-coat it.
I have a D1 here you can practice all day long if you wish lol
Yes im very pleased the way it turned out & everyone seams to like it
Btw I used a small hobby compressor timing is the key & stopping painting when is half run out of puff
& let it build up then start again
Is that also whilst ur tapping a baseball bat in the palm of ur hand
I don't need a bat you've not seen the size of my arms lol
shame you were not closer you could have had some practice on it & used my gear before
splashing the cash
I have some spare 2k white paint aswell !!
Indeed have got some old plastic panels, assume u have to use an etching primer for the plastic and of course sanding down for a good key
My brother useto have the hobbyist spray guns for when he done tamiya models , he bought the air cans then

Daft question please , would I be able to run this spray gun off my compressor plse, does have a regulator to drop the pressure right down
Thks
