slight misfire 2-3000 revs

Hi folks
have owned my freelander for 18 months no probs at all, but just recently when driving along in 3rd about 2-3000 revs but not pulling hard it has like a misfire, stationary reving it up slowly its ok upto 2000 misfires abit with blue fuel smelling smoke upto 3000 then clears and revs fine, it also still pulls like a train when pulling up hill under hard acceleration ,any help muchly appreciated

hi folks
just an update changed both the fuel filter and pump under rear wheelarch still problem persists, feels slightly rough when driving revs between 2-3000 and then if you are at standstill in neutral rev up to 2000 no probs rough up to 3000 revs then clears and is fine all the way up the rev range any ideas folks

might want to change your pcv to the bmw one. have a search on here

you using much fuel? tried unplugging the maf?

check your injectors and the high fuel pressure sensor

Thanks folks will check these things out , wouldn't I get poor starting first thing in a morning if injectors were leaking or could they just be slightly blocked would a few doses of Miller's help with these ,will break out the spanners this weekend.

hi folks
had a quick look tonight and noticed a small rubber pipe 90 degree elbow under where egr valve sits appears to be leaking diesel ,so working on the theory if fuel coming out then air getting in, will have a closer look over weekend .

hi folks
replaced this small pipe, (landrover dont have any and they want to sell you the whole pipe complete with a sensor for £64 ) i used a straight piece with a gentle curve in it 2 new clips £2.50 from motor factors cured the leak but problem still persists ,trying millers for a few fill ups see if this helps .

Hi folks
just an update as still have the problem have spoken to a local landrover specialist and he suspects injectors ,but has told me to run it on shell nitro with 200ml synthetic 2 stroke oil for a couple of weeks , so will try this and if this doesn;t work its a set of injectors . Was offered a shogun sport same year but less mileage as a straight swop ,cant print what people think of them .
