Got back off a holiday to Scotland in the motorhome for 8 days and was happy to see the Rangie sitting level all airbags still inflated, opened her up and she started first touch of the key so am well chuffed.

After reading about issues with leaving them and battery drain etc didn't know what to expect.

Just need to get the aircon regassed and checked for leaks as it wasn't working when i picked it up around a month ago, have checked all fuses and relays so hopefully a regas will sort the problem.

Cheers Glyn

My pleasure mate, wammers back when Espana runs out of JD. He's still keeping his finger on the pulse though, I'm running out of popcorn. Nice to see you back on here, Kindest regards:D:D:D

Only 8 days ?! Lol :)

I realise i was being a bit pesimistic but after reading all the threads about battery drain and the issues ive had with the EAS i was expecting the worst.

Took her for a run today and all seems ok apart from the aircon not working, noticed ATS just round corner from me did aircon recharge while you wait for £39, and as i thought there is a leak somewhere, the mechanic showed me a mist coming from around the wheel arch area, any ideas where to start looking.

By the way ATS also didnt charge as it didnt work.

Only part of the system nearest to this i can think of is the dryer, but cant imaging anything getting past the wheel arch liner?

i know on fridges now my mate has to presure test with nitrogen to test system before vacing down and regassing its a better way off testing before gassing

take it to Halfords.
they do a similar test but with dye and they seam to always want to show you what is wrong. they wont charge you but you will know which bit to change.

probably the condenser and that's straight forward and now cheap to change.

do that and go back to the same Halfords.
they should recharge and job done.

Hi and thanks for the advice but i wouldn't use Halfords to change a bulb let alone anything else after a bad experience having a Parrot kit fitted in a Merc CLK last year, what a bunch of amateurs but thats a story for another time.

The mechanic at ATS said he had put die in it and recommended a garage to try and get the leak fixed, he said it seemed to be a big leak but couldn't pinpoint it despite putting in the dye.

You mean the tyre fitter at ATS was blind if he put dye in it and couldn't see the leak:confused:

Seemed like a nice chap and lives on my road, was just upfront and said he couldn't tell for definite where it was leaking and didn't want to suggest something and me change it to find out the leak was elsewhere.

Is there any way i can pressurise the system myself to try and find the source of the leak??, i also need to find a leak of ATF which seems to be coming from the front grill area, whats the easiest way to access the condenser & gearbox oil cooler??

Cheers Glyn

Dont know about the petrol but on the diesel the aircon pipes run down the inner wing along side the EAS box and air filter, mine sprung a leak in the pipe where it had chaffed on the corner of the air filter box and the dye was dripping out the inner wing behind the head light.

Remove the slam plate and grill and then the fans then you have access to the condensor.
