reseller branding rarely equates to quality......its branding afterall QED colours n fashions n trends.....

The original go fast stripe and snake oil brigade....

I have driven Landy's for Fifty years now, with much off road use and the only fail I have had twice [ once on series once on coil ] is the eye coming off at the top of the shock. I just fit the standard Armstrong ones again when they wear out.
Sorry to resurrect an oldish thread.

How many miles do you get out of the Armstrongs?
My terrafirmas have all got oil mist down them and are utterly worn after about 50k, I should of probably replaced them ages ago, I only really notice that they are bad when towing, I've bought flat dog springs but have yet to fit them as I'm undecided about what shocks to go for, I was thinking bilstein or ome, but Armstrong are so affordable.

Got terrafirma +5 model I think all round on my 90, been on there a few years now.
Fitted by po with relocated top mounts, so when they died a few years back I just replaced with the same.

My son has the orange Britparts ones on his Disco 2, the rear of his Ninety and on the rear of my 90. I'm no expert but seem to be fine and sensible price.

Son had no problems with his Terrafirma shocks on his Ninety in the 6 or so years he had them.
Did he try taking them off? I think that is when you can tell if they are any good or not. Did a rebuild on my brothers 90 and the Terrafirma shocks were knackered and a couple difficult to remove.

Easy to remove, thinking about he may still have the TF ones on the front.

Doesn't look like much flex for +5's?
It wont have as it is on std springs, thats how I bought it all them years ago, never quite understood why it had the +5 shox fitted, the point I was trying to make was, the terrafirma +5 have been no issue, so maybe the longer ones are better quality?

I just got new terrafirma shocks and springs with steering damper. My previous ones lasted about 3 years. Same kit. Just for reference. Terrafirma guys on the phone can give you all the part numbers and suggest which shocks and springs to install based on what you’re doing day to day, very smart guys on there own product.

3 years sounds terrible...

No theyre not, they are very good at selling you stuff but not at telling the truth about their products.

All this terror talk of Terrafirma dampers. I have them on the Ninety, installed 2.5 years ago and they're absolutely fine having covered 6000 miles. I did take note of them rusting out to their lower sleeve area and the threads so had given them a liberal coating of transparent chassis wax...they're still looking brand new and guess time will tell. When the time comes I'll most likely upgrade to OME standard height units as they do get first rate reviews...and to match the steering damper.
