Shock absorbers

I need to replace my custom shocks on Suzuki Samurai with custom coil
suspension and I found two types of shock absorbers on the market.
1. Very stiff when compressing and extending.
2. Very very soft when compressing, but extending is the same like in the 1.
case.

Which do you prefer for offroading (fast tracks, rock crawling, mud
bogging)?
Both types of shocks are OLD MAN EMU company.

There is no Samurai problem that they don't have a
proven solution for. I have the Rancho®
Dual-Action Remote Control System shocks on my
lifted Sami. The air actuator lets me adjust to
any tension from the driver's seat.
