Just as my Golden Girl is getting ready to leave me, for a week or so, she has started whistling.
Only between 1500 and 2000 revs. Doesn't matter if it's putting load on , or off. Even if she still working hard , it stops at 2000.
I thought maybe turbos, but wouldn't that still be there outside that range?
Help appreciated :)

I had a Landy that did that when a new air filter was fitted. Whistled away quite merrily as the turbo spooled up. At higher revs I reckon was still whistling had just gone ultrasonic. Eventually it stopped when air filter started to get clogged

Hmmmm. Not something I think is her issue. She did have full service a few months ago , but the whistling has just started.

Intercooler and hoses can whistle when starting to split or a pipe popping open. Look for traces of oil, the turbo spurts an oil film in the offending area normally. Check any of the pipes after the turbo for signs of japery!! ;)
Actually, check the air filter box as well incase the air filter has deformed in anywayo_O

Thanks Mark. It was persisting down this morning, so didn't check hoses that Henry thought of :( She has now gone to the plastic (alloy) surgeon , and won't be back for a week, but bonnet up when she comes back.

Time to get back to this again.
I have been looking for threads that explain how to check/change turbo hoses, but, being a tad nice but dim, when it comes to this sort of thing, I need pictures. Each thread I've read has had their pictures affected by the Great Photobucket Cull.
Could some kind person please supply photos of where the hoses are I should be checking for splits or being loose.
Thanks in advance.

Once had a similar whistle on a SD1 years ago Turned out to be where inlet manifold joined the head, blown gasket

i was an indentured apprentice at southern counties working on the sd1 and many others under the bl umbrella ..loved it then and now, owned 6 of them!
they weren't the greatest in terms of build quality,
but it was a real trend setter back then amongst the terry and june princess, all agros (allegro) maxis, doglomites,
