Anyway update!

Just measured the bellhousings now I have both plus the adaptor plate :)

Adaptor plate plus stumpy (all bolt holes match) is 6 - 5/16"

Long bellhousing is 10 - 4/5"

So theres just under 4.5" coming off all of which goes onto the rear prop which is quite the space save!

Update, got the box dismantled, took out the pinion then found out I couldn't get the roller bearing off the old shaft.......

Ordered a new bearing as its only £11 it also gives me a nice clutch tool to use with the old pinion being out of the box.

Anyway this is a pic of the pinion next to the new stumpy one, box will go back together with the new one in there tomorrow! Bearing doesn't arrive til then, will put it into the vehicle on saturday as I get the clutch on friday :)

Got no use for something like that, this is the only bearing that needs pulled and for £11 here next day theres no point really, would never use it again and may as well renew the bearing I suppose

All sorted now anyway, gearbox can go back together tomorrow and into the vehicle at the weekend once I get the clutch on

there are 2 bearings with pinion and whats the number of new stumpy shaft

22 tooth suffix J is FTC5062

I got the outer race off just not the inner race if thats what you're meaning ? Only one bearing needed to come off to swap shaft anyway then theres the other one on rear of pinion but thats a split bearing like a shell rather than roller

thats why I asked old one has a nice chamfer your new didn't appear to have one, could be because of the grind and light angel of things. that is why I asked

Ahh gotcha, yeah same shaft just a different angle. Its got a real nice fillet on it :)

there are 2 taper roller bearings on inside the other on the out as pictured both need changing wih their respective race or roller set,
