right now i have an old series 2a with a rotten chassis.... and i got offered a rangie chassis a while ago, i havent realy done much untill recently, heres a pic of it to give you an idea of what it is although most of its going to change anyway....

don't mean to be rude but front 2 red oxide patches appear to not be strengthened where you have welded it
 
where you have cut and shut it in the middle are you going to put for plates around it ie on on the top both sides and the bottom,

i know i would for a bit more strength anorl
 
they are now;) we did think, about half way through the day (the pics are only of the morning and previous days) that it might be a good idea.... i might be 13 but im not completely stupid:):) well not much anyway and before anyone asks i didnt weld the chassis or the cage my dad did that, for obvious reasons:rolleyes: althought his welding is very good (its his job lol), we have also got the engine,gearbox and bulkhead on and the rollcage is on ready to be welded
 
If you (or yer ol' man) has stuck some additional plating on it, bollox, looks like jobs a good 'un.

& if yer 13, with a squeaky voice & you're taking on a project like that, fair play to you chap. ;)

hi everyone, sorry about the delay, been working on it quite a bit, got the engine box bolted in and props in, the engine and box sit quite a way back in the chassis, the gearbox is on the rangerover g-box mounts so the engine is moved right back the reason i have gone for this is because i havent had to modify the props and for better weight distribution. the bulkhead is bolted in place, the exhaust is manufactured and mounted, the radiator is in place so this saturday we will be doing the wings and rear, ive decided to trayback it, what do any of you think of traybacking it? does anyone have/know where i can get a series 2 grille?

I have an S11 grill, also sot a military grill that would look good on your hybrid. (the military grill is sat behind the S11 grill)

I dont have the 2a docs anyway, technicaly its scrapped, however i do have the rangerover docs so if i were to put it on the road not on a q plate it wouldent be tax exempt so i wouldent gain anything, but like i say its not going on the road, i agree, peeps do take the **** :mad::mad::mad:
 
As an old fogey it's good to see young 'uns with a bit of gumption and go. Good project, great attitude, best of luck with it.
 
right got a whole load more done, rear tub is cut down and on, rear x-member is on, cage is on, clutch is bled, steering is connected and ive made my rock sliders (bent and welded them myself! ) oh and the bonnet and grille are done, just need the mesh which ive baught off a friend and just need to pick it up next week and and!!!! wait for it... i got a coil sprung salibury rear axle for....£10! scrapyards are wonderfull things!
ive also decided on the colour scheme, landrover green with black cage and slders, fuel tank, chassis
ill get pics next time im at the workshop
