Series 1 Chassis Correct Paint Colour

Hi All
First post so please be gentle!
I'm in the process of restoring a series one. Am I correct in my belief that the original factory finish was gloss black? Having painted it, it just looks too shiny!
Obviously all period photos are black and white.
Any help appreciated.

on that recent s1 restoration show they did the chassiss in green. it was apparently a really good restoration, so may be correct

Depends on the age I think, seems to get asked quite often in the landy mags or used to anyway. Some were galv/ silver, some were body colour and some were black. Depends what year yours is

two pack primer ,then paint mans jet black coach paint looks good ,or paint it same couler as body ,,,i would just tetra seal it all over anyways ,but tbh its your truck so paint it what ever coulor you wont mate
