count me out for the day :( series isnt workin 100% yet and been ordered to be a Dad not a teenager on Sunday !

I worry when I hear people going off route - it IS a live testing ground afterall - not to mention the politics etc etc ( don't worry I won't start ) :D

Not being funny, but Looking at the list, it's up to 16 now - so that'll be 8 per group, in a fairly concentrated area - i'm not too keen on being in a convoy that big on any laning day out, so i'll pass this one for the time being.

Hey bud, I'm not scaremongering, you go and enjoy your day, you can get away with larger groups on Salisbury Plain because it's generally such a wide open space and less bobbles about - just be sensible eh?:)

I know yer not dude - don't sweat it ;)
If you guys think it's ok to have larger gps on the plains, then maybe i will tag along. Afterall, i don't know the plains 100% - I'm normally arguing with local ROW officers and sending letters to councils - I've not had to deal with the MOD or the rangers before....

the land wardens we all meet out there are real nice chaps , they dont interfer with you unless your doing something you shouldnt be doing , if ya go and bump into them , get talking to um they,ll tell ya some real good stories , i wouldnt worry about the m.o.d either as if there is an excercise going on they,ll soon stop ya , they will see you long before you see them

which can be quite disturbing when the bushes beside you suddenly turn into tanks.:eek::eek::eek::D:D:D

most wardens weve met have been spot on at the end of the day there doing there job.

as i stated early on in the fred because of the size of groups we need to stick to the byways do that theres no problems.

its when you stray off the byways or do stuff your not supposed to they will have a word.

in my experience treat them and speak to them how you would like to be spoken to and there fine..

if there on exercise the red flags would be up,which would mean a no go anyway...so its easy to spot

Some of the range wardens are ok...

last sunday we got off a byway by 10m to the side where we parked and were having a chat, there was a big mud hole there, but we were just parked up, of course all the ground around was a complete mess, this range warden comes flying over saying you fokers tearing the place apart, get the fok out of here, fok this, fok that... not the right approach.
One of the people there with me in the day is part of the MOD, and he's going to be reported for his abuse specially his language as there was ladies and kids around.

other than that....never had a problem there.
The land has byways, so even if there is 40 land rovers in convoy as long as its a byway is no different to any other road.

And I doubt the MOD repairs the land, you see tank marks everywhere across the hills

The MOD are only allowed to have so much of the plain as ungrassed. If they churn it up or make a new road they do have to repair it.

ARSE......:D:p:D

Well I could see the horse loving Wiltshire RoW officer having a field day putting TROs on byways if 40 Land Rovers in convoy became the norm rather than a thankfully rare occurrence.

Of course you'll see tank tracks all over the Plain, but all SSSI areas used by the military have to be reinstated.;)

hi guys, going to have to pull out of this one, i was really looking forward to going but i made the mistake of opening the drivers side back door and well its a land rover so now it wont close again, as much as id like to tag along the strap between the 2 back doors to keep it closed isnt what id call safe for a day out, the door card might pop off and then the door will be swinging free. :(

Duck tape. Job done :D

Would love to be there but the dog ate my Land Rover then shat itself.

Hang on, that's not right.

The dog ate my homework and my Land Rover shat itself.

Hang on. I wasn't coming though.

Land Rover works fine.

Can I come please?
