If you have not had the car long, throw it back to the garage as not fit for purpose use the small claims court if necessary.
sadly its an option that i will have to take, seeing its a morgan main dealer, i am very disappointed in them,i paid the full price and expected a good relationship with them.my last morgan i bought in 1980 and stayed with the same dealer all the time i had it

Some 3rd party OBD readers will show the Immobiliser status, but not many. I checked my bluetooth dongle & iphone today, and it does not show it, but my Delphi CDP does show the immobiliser as ok.

Like Keith says, if you bought it 7 weeks ago, then sale of goods rules mean they have to sort it or refund you.

Do the DIY basics first, and check for spark & fuel pressure. There's a schrader valve on the GEMS fuel rail. Connect a tyre gauge & turn the engine over. If it's not even turning over, check battery & starter cables, otherwise it's prossibly immobilised.

You could also try contacting @JohnM70 on here. According to LZIR Map he is on the IOW with some diagnostics.

thank you to everyone who has tried to help me,i have a decision to make with how i go forward, all this just hasn't happened i expected some glitches its an old car, hardly used for a few years and would have sorted the problems out at this end with out bothering the dealer as its a long expensive distance, but a reasonably straight forward problem has turned sour and repeated e mails and calls dont get returned.i still like the car but will have to put my foot down

As you've only had it 7 weeks, talk to a solicitor, and consider the full refund route. Also call one of those no-win no-fee firms ? Presumably the dealer gave some warranty even on a used car ? Are they also on IOW ?

i hope it doesnt go down that route, but when they dont respond to e mails and always seem to be with another customer, off sick,on holiday etc and the promised return call never comes, you start to wonder.its over 120 miles away getting the car trailered there with our ferry costs would be a more than a fair amount of money.if i could get it diagnosed and fixed here i would but the biggest fear i have is there maybe a bigger problem than thought

Add the transport cost to your claim against the garage.
