Richards Chassis lead time?

I rang them the other day - it's about ten weeks direct. However, they supply Britpart and Ribble Valley to name two. I just got one from Ribble Valley as he could deliver more quickly (I needed it in a hurry) - I think he's got at least one more SWB, not sure about other specs. I also know that Britpart had 8 in stock - I rang Craddocks and they were very helpful but their delivery was a bit more expensive sue to distance and it would have meant a longer wait and they delivered on an artic and I would have needed to arrange it lifted off...Ribble Valley Steve turned up this morning with his wife and son with it on a trailer...much easier!

got mine in about 8 weeks from richards... had to pay 50% deposit as I had my number stamped into the new chassis pre-galving. Final 50% was then paid the day before delivery.
 
I understood the chassis number had symbols in as well and reproducing it was of no legal benefit.
The most important thing is to keep the purchase receipt witrh the vehicle documents.

I did a tonne of research on the internet before starting this, and it seemed to me that getting the new chassis stamped probably saved some hassle in the long run. It may not be 100% to the letter of the dvla rules, but their implementation is not 100% either.

On 2cvs, galvo chassis swaps are really common - even more so than Landies. NOBODY has the chassis number stamped into the chassis (some of which are now on their second or third car), and Citroen didn't bother on the originals, either. <shrug>

Well, perhaps that proves the case then. I'm sure I've done no harm getting it stamped on then...

So how many 2cvs is too many? I'll have to remember your name... My other half has always wanted a fully restored 2cv for her daily!

No, definitely no harm, and quite possibly useful in the event of it going walkies and reappearing with bells or in bits..

Oh, yes, indeed. They're like a half-scale Landy made out of tinfoil. Wonderful fun.
