P38A Reverse beeper

4.6 HSE 1997
I have reverse beepers that the closer you get to the wall behind the faster it beeps.
They started only working intermittently and now don't work at all.
They appear to be factory fitted but apparently that model doesn't have them and not even as an optional extra. They were there when I got the car.
Can anyone help me with where to start looking?

I think you mean Parking Sensors, but the likely cause of the problem will be water ingress in the sensors themselves (the round thingies in the rear bumper).

It may be a "get under the cars rear bumper and look for mud, wet or rust" affair.

1997 wouldn't have been a factory fitted job methinks.

If you are in Inverness I can look at them for free, but it would have to be a Saturday or Sunday.....

+1 to that. My discovery had a similar thing. Just unplugged them sprayed connector with water repellent and refitted. Work fine now and have done for 6 months
