It's been 5 years since I completely stripped the disco down and replaced the floor, inner wings, chassis mounts and anything else that was showing signs of rot, and the tin worm has come back..

What would be the quickest/easiest way to get access to the rear crossmember? I was hoping not to remove the fuel tank (again) or have to lift the boot floor, photo attached.
Thanks muchly

Or maybe not :(
If I unbolt the crossmember mounts can I raise it a foot or so higher than the chassis?

Have started disconnecting the fuel tank ready to drop it out tomorrow hopefully that will allow me to access the full rear side of the crossmember..

Removing the tank will give you access a lot easier, the bumper will have to come off 4 bolts , disconnect the lights and it's off. Pretty sure that you won't be able to jack it up 12 inches. Replacing the bottom section on my crossmember at the moment.

Bumper is 2 bolts.
Fuel tank is a pig to remove

I did it 5 years ago when doing the floor and it wasn't much fun, this evening Ive just disconnected the feed and return pipes, fuel intake and breather pipe without issues. From what I remember it's now just a few bolts underneath and the fun moving it with 1/4 tank of diesel in!!
