Rear Axle Oil Leak

Got my Defender back from garage yesterday, had both front and rear discs replaced aswell as front calipers.
Just noticed tonight there is a oil leak from passenger side Rear axle.
Running down the back of new brake disc and onto inside of tyre.
Was OK yessterday just started tonight after a run out.
Not sure if the seals gone while they have been working on it???

I presume you had the pads replaced as well. Are you sure it's not brake fluid? Could be coming from the bleed nipple if it's not been tightened properly. If it is leaking brake fluid, the affected brake will need bleeding as well. Also check your brake fluid level - open the resv to check as they sometimes have a tide mark that makes them look full.

If it's a seal leaking, the first thing to check would be that the axle breather is not blocked. Anything else is beyond my axle related experience

EDIT: It will be easy to tell if it's axle oil as EP90 stinks!

Clearet breatherstill leaking. Fluid levels ok. Think it is Axel Oil.

Garage closed till Monday.
Decided to have a go myself.
It was the inner seal, the old one was put back in. Anyway got new one cleaned and greased everything up, put back together and topped the G90 oil up, took nearenough a litre.
No Leaks yet so think Ive sorted it, with the help from Oldeasdog, Cheers Mate. and Busters step by step guide.
Thanks Buster, they are really helpfull to none mechanics like me.

Have a look at Busters how to guide for rear wheel bearing replacement.

Not sure if he mentions it but when putting the wheel back on because you need to make sure the wheel goes back on absolutely square, a helper might erm help

although mine has Disc Brakes its the same principle to get to the inner seal.
Just follow it step by step and take your time.

OK Here I go Again.
As you,s will have noticed by my recent posts i do have a few problems with my first Landy but I Am getting there with the help from this forum.
Anyway my rear axle leak was fine untill today, as above I repleaced with brand new rear seal, cleaned and greeased wheel bearings and all was well untill last night. Started leaking again, not as bad as before but still leaking.
What did I do wrong as I followed the Guide step by step.???

dont know what you did , did you ensure garter spring didnt fall of seal , did you fit seal too far in , was flange seal contact surface scored or pitted

Did not notice any spring in the new seal. maybe I did fit it to far in, gonna have to have another go as I have another seal.
The oil is coming from the inside of the wheel, it is running down the back of the rear disc. No oil coming from the front flange.

in which case you need a new seal not inner hub but diff oil to wheel bearing which is either in stub axle or on outer side of wheel bearings

I did put back excactly what came out, did not see any other seal,
Is there a seal that goes into the stub axle?

inner hub seal ftc4785 isnt an oil seal its a grease seal it wont stop oil 100% ,early axles have a seal in outer side of hub later seal in stub axle
