arc welding takes a little practice but when available i would choose it over mig unless welding thin metal or having to do one pass vert/pipe welds.

chuk the ark welder and get a mig
any muppet can use mig

Few pics of the latest effort, grinded the bobbles down to get a smoother finish, guess one day i'll be able to weld it smooth

if yer weren't all the way down in devon i would offer to come give a hand!

BTW a sanding disc will make yer welds look better than a grinding disk

you will get less 'chatter' and less deep scores

you may also get a nicer weld if you do lots of spot type welds and link them up

e's right - they'd make even Stevies' welding look good

Aye i'm trying to spot the rear bit, which was oki but being a pedantic bugger, i was keen to try and improve it and managed to hole the the thinner tube, but was using a thicker rod and more amps ( run out of 2.5mm )

I shall continue to try and master it to some degree as tbh, i rather enjoy doing it
