I'll get some pics up, the thing is, i welded the box section to the tube with a few goes and i'm content with the result, it's not perfect by any means but it does the job.
With the tubing, the thinner stuff slides inside the thicker stuff so it's welding around the thin and binding it to the thicker so to speak, not the best scenario to learn on.
The first attempt wasn't to bad, very ' bobbly ' welds but pretty strong as i had the landy lifted up near the joints with no noticable issues.
As for the rods, i don't know the make etc, one set are 2.5mm blue colour and the thicker 3mm ones are a grey colour, but from their history i do believe they spent some time in a flooded basement ( including the welder anorl, but it's a sketchy history ) The previous owner was a keen welder from what i know, the welder came in a little home made box with all bits with it and the rods were kept in tubes to keep them dry. This doesn't really mean anything, but you get an idea that the person cared for the equipment, so i'm content that it's not a bad little welder.
I'll grab some new decent rods before i continue with the project, some pics are here of the welds ( not the ones i did last night though )
