Hi, We are looking to take our Tdci 90 to the Pyranees in May - Does anyone have any good route information ie where to find the tracks etc. We are travelling alone so need a balance between challenging but not very extreme. Or indeed where to find this info. We would like to do the Atlantic to the Med if poss (how long will that take??)

Also any tips on preparing a Tdci for such a trip and what spares to take

:cool: niceeeee me and me m8 are looking to set of over pyranees in august
was looking to going last year but the funds was not there ... same here would be good if someone could help out with maps of where to go :cool:
 
If you have Google Earth,start at 43degrees 02mins 08.87secs,000degrees,25mins,05.73 secs. Direction NNE, be very careful of offendeing locals with loud exhausts etc but you could be up there for two days, good luck and be prepared.
 
Hi - I have lived in the area for the last 10 years or so - the best maps are the "carte IGN 1:25,000 series.The Atlantic to Med route follows the GR10 a famous footpath.
I am not far from andorra at the eastern end of the pyrenees - did you know they got the name from the greek word for fire 'cause the mountains are full of iron and there was constant smoke from all the smelting ! If you need any help let me know ( I have a lovely gite also, very reasonable)
 
Hi, my post on another forum,

Maps; rough guide is excellent, also try to get michelin 343/344 1:150 000 for the French side and the 574 1:400 000 for the Spanish side.

Satnav; copilot is excellent on a pda or garmin (but sure whatever you get is full street level European mapping not an MR & I (Major Routes & Ireland) version.

GPS; for tracks look at Wikiloc - GPS trails and waypoints of the World loads of tracks/scenic routes here, sign for a free account and download to a mappable garmin device or similar.

This is an excellent track between Andorra/Spain also know as the smugglers route; Wikiloc - Port Cabus (Andorra) - Poble d'Alins (Pallars Sobirà) trail - Tor, Catalunya (España) - GPS track

Camping; there's loads of campsites about but this site is excellent. ACSI Eurocampings - 9100 by ACSI inspected camp sites in Europe!
