Hi, I have a 2011 defender which is serviced by an independent land rover specialist. They have recommended a re-tune to lose the flat spot, improve the overall performance and overall mpg. I have been quoted £500 and told it will take about an hour. Has anyone done this and what have been the benefits. Cheers Duggie

Just had mine done by Alive.
They took a long time mapping it out, de-limiting it and nulifying the EGR.
It runs smoother and with a bit more oomph through the range. MPG is no better, possibly slightly worse. Was it worth the money? possibly not, but I cant imagine anyone else doing a more thorough job.

Im always tempted to map a Car yet never bother in the end. To be honest I hadn't considered mapping a defender. I pick her up on weekend so ill give her a good drive before I decide Esther I should or not. I was rather unimpressed by the 120 BHP yet chuffed by the almost 400nm torque. I think if I got any kind of map ot would be a dual map. Motorway and full power foe them tricky hills :D. Although from reading these threads seems to U justify any kind of map ...

Had my puma remapped by BAS up at billing show as I'd put a de-cat side exit system on her and providing I don't get lead foot fuel is fine and no flat spots!
