Nothing much to report, negligible loss over the last 24 hours, all locked up etc.

For my next test I have re-connected the alarm siren, I saw a drop of around 0.3v in the ensuing hour but I presume some modules woke up when fitting the alarm 'on the fly'.

So if tomorrow shows the battery all good then the questioin that must be raised is...
'why did the previous owner have so much dain issues'?

Are the bonnet catches microswitched?

Maybe just a dodgy battery, they self drain as they start to fail.

One front arm could do with being replaced,

For kicks I strolled into Eurocarparts, front lower....£91:eek:

Oh how I laughed at the poor fellow on the desk as he endeavoured to help.... " it's only £52 if you go all the way home whence you came, order online then pootle back in" he said.

I'm afraid I laughed much louder.:p

Had a similar exchange not so long back. I said to order it on your phone and there was a brief discussion before the manager stepped forward and said forget it, I can discount it here.

Update on battery,

Yesterday it had dropped from 12.58 to 12.4 overnight, so calling it ok.
Fired it up to move it and it had oodles of amps.:)

I had enquired whether the bonnet switches are microswitched because one side was not fully catching, I did a bit of adjusting and it now closes fully with a good springy release ...

perhaps that was the underlying problem with the PO.

I'm sure that if the bonnet was not latching properly it would be the cause of the alarm going off.

from what I can make out no micro switches in the latch. It’s on a plunger button type switch (up near the plenum).edit which you have already found.

nice toy for the winter btw, you may even like/enjoy it too much to punt on once fixed:)

Found some rust, down below 'er skirts...removed them gently but with measured intent.

Just bubbles as it happenes, ground the blighters down and applied the cure-rust gloop, in the process of applying glaze and waiting to pounce upon it with some water borne met. wif 2k clear.

Always amazed me.
RRC rots with a fury.

L322 eh **** it, lets make it rot, just like old times eh?
