Hi im looking for some guidance on things to do and look out for on my 05 l322 td6 80000 miles as i would like to keep it in a good condition by staying on top of the small bits befor there bigger.
Today engine oil +oil filter+pollen filter+air filter+ fuel filter crankcase breather filter .
Auto box oil+filter+seals and gasket will do diff and transfer box soon.
battery was low on volts 8.5v so needed a charge sitting at 12.6v now is there any gadget i can install that dose not need a mains cable across the pavement as my RR lives on the street so working in it can be difficult any help would be greatly appreciated.

Small solar panel for the battery?

If the battery got down to 8.5 volts it's quite likely knackered, 12.6 volts is still low.
A solar panel and charge controller will do the job, assuming you live somewhere where someone will not smash a window to steal it. I can provide details and links if required. I use a 20 watt panel to allow for the losses through the Opticool glass and still provide enough power even on an overcast winters day with a charge controller to prevent overcharging in summer.
Panel and charge controller came to less than £30.

I'd be interested in that link. Mine sits at Dublin airport for a fortnight every couple of months and I'm paranoid it will be dead when I get off an 8 hour flight at 5am.

Brill a solar panel kit it is to keep the likely knackered battery limping along for the summer hopefully when we are let out i can give it a run
ill see where we are with the voltage tomorrow morning any thing else i should lookout for thank you for the help regards chris.

If your battery is duff I would replace it. It's a hefty lump to push!!!:p

The MF31-1000 is a very good battery I have 5 of he same make. I will post links for the solar panel and charge controller when I fire up the office computer later.
Duracell is now just a brand name, it's owned by an Indian company.

Mf31-1000, is this in your P38 @Datatek? I'm not so sure battery is as good as it should be, I'd changed the fuel filter yesterday and bridged the fuel pump to help start the engine and when I turned the key the engine turned over sluggishly?
After I stopped the pump it and turned the key again it span over quite happily... It's only 720amp 93ah.
It starts great in the morning which contradicts the drain comaint??

I've Got a Numax Heavy duty battery on my 4.6..

1200cca and 120ah it has sat for over 2 weeks and still spins her over like a top...

Hankook are alright, but the 2 year old one on my D2 could barely turn it over...
