Power Steering stops when going through water..

Yep even when the truck goes through a deep puddle (especially on the driver side) the power steering has a blip and will stop working.

Can anyone confirm what i suspect that this is the drive belt slipping due to the water? Or any other ideas on how to prevent this or improve it?

Look lads If your referring to another thread I cant see it or find it. If this is a common problem to post I am sorry, as again I haven't seen anything on the forum thus far.

So maybe some input would be useful?
 
Does it ever stop when dry? Mine does occasionally so i think the pump is on its way out, thus causing more resistance than normal making it easier to slip in the wet stuff
 
Mine doesn't cause a prob in the dry just when lots of water is a about. When my pump ****e its pants I through off the belt and it disintegrated in a million pieces and wound round everything (bit worrying round a corner doing 40mph, hence the replacement pump and second hand belt asap.
