Squeaking power steering

New Dayco belts are about £4 each, sort of thing you buy to bump up an order to free postage and keep in stock.
I went through a stage of doing that with hub seals until I realised I have about 10 of them in the garage 😅
Let's us know how you get on.

It rots the belts

Come on matey, it's common sense is to remove the belt to clean the pulleys, I shouldn't have to draw a picture for the obvious.

Note: I'm dissenting on Dayco, I think they're prone to squeak more than most. Just my 2 cents. I prefer Gates or skf where possible,

So belt that is on is Dayco, I had a continental as a spare which seems slightly wider and shorter.. although measurement on the belt is the same. Gave the pulley a wobble and seems fine, only thing I’d say is when I turn the pulley in one direction it’s smooth and in the other direction it ‘clicks’. Cleaned the pulley and put new belt on and seems to be fine.. no squeak! Could the clicking mean pump is on its way out?
