I have these on the front of my car and they seem to be pretty good. The rear are some other brand and need replaced, badly. Was going to get another 2 of these.

Anyone else had good experience with them or would you suggest something else?

I use michelin lattitude cross and on my second set got about 40 000 miles out of them and that was across Russia and Mongolia

Yes, I meant Pirelli, sorry :)

Where are folks going for their tyres these days? My usual place has quoted me £110 per tyre (and that's cost..!)

Also, getting conflicting results when searching. I have 255/55/18 at the moment, should this me 255/60/18? I have 255/55/18 all round at the moment..

I've used these on Freelander 2's and the current D4 and drive around 30,000 miles a year. They last well, grip well (wet, dry and proper mud), are very quiet, have a particularly good rating for fuel consumption (yet still have an M+S rating) and haven't given me any reason to complain.

There are cheap options out there (especially from China and Korea - brands already mentioned), but I'm happy to pay a bit more for this sort of quality.

I've never, ever used second hand tyres. Just wouldn't do it. Always new for me.

As for second hand cars, invariably I'll have changed the tyres within a year of purchase unless I can see they're pretty new already.

Also, Wil. Move closer please. Thanks :p
Camskill seem the cheapest so far.

I've used black circles.com they are reasonable. Maxis and Yokohama are good options. Used to run scorpions but then I was told that only verdes would fit - and they were rubbish.

Despite giving around 30,000 miles on the Freelanders, I may have hit on a problem. It looks like the Disco 4 might chew through a set in less than 20,000 miles. I've just taken a tread measurement and despite running them at the correct pressures, the centre has worn a little faster than the edges and if down to about 4.5mm, at only 11,500 miles :( I know it weights 2.5 tonnes and has over 250 bhp, but I was hoping for a little more than that.
