Bought some electrical gizmo box from TAW4X4 £35 1/2 hour to fit.
Now starts every time

ok will check them. to make a short story long. i had the engine replaced with a "good condition" fleabay 90k one. obviously this means nothing. it turned up and according to my trusty lads in the garage the sump was on the wrong way along with the oil pick up suggesting that it could have been from a 5 series?? not sure. anyway they swapped the sump and pick up around and got it all back in, as i said it revs really nicely, pulls as well as any of these diesels do, just idle warm is slightly rough, (easy to ignore) idle when cold is a disaster, often will just die if its not revved up. and obviously takes a while to fire whilst cranking. i thought that glow plugs would just ease starting and not affect cold idle? presumably i'm wrong? the lads thought it could be cold start ecu programming differences between LR and BMW that were messing with the injection pump. possible? i thought not.
Copperslip the threads when you put the new ones in, will help next time they have to come out, which will be soon if you don't use a good make.Ok well, I will put some in and see what happens. Thanks.
Check injection timing.
Just enough to cause "lumpy" idle when cold.
Right, new glow plugs in. No difference sadly, I know the glow plugs are working as I tested them. So therefore I beleieve the relay is working too. I'm thinking injection pump timing? Anyone agree?
Sorry meant to add that hot start isn't good. Fine if started within 30 seconds of ignition off. Any longer and it cranks for ages and starts with a dab of throttle.
