Been offered a 2000 (X) for 500 quid. It starts & drives, it's black, has DVD screens in the head rests, cream leather interior, new airbags (cant recall if they were front or rear) and so on.

It's got 110k on the clock and I have no idea if it's a 4.0 or a 4.6. But it looks nice with a half wood half leather wheel and all the usual Vogue nonsense :p

Should I buy it? If only to swap all the good bits onto mine :D

I really fancied a cream interior. But what's involved in swapping all the leccy bits, would I need to do the wiring loom and BECM or is there a cheat? I really like my car, I know what's new on it and I trust it. But like I said, I like the cream interior

Drive it and use yours for spares!

Seats are dead easy. Dash is a day long job but not too bad. Not sure how easy the steering wheel will swap. Door cards are easy but I bet half the mushroom things snap. Never done the carpets. Are they glued down? Could be tricky.

If it's a proper Vogue it will be a 4.6. For that money I would expect something major to be wrong but worth a punt for £500. As Brian said, you should get that in spares worst case.

So, I'm gunna have to go look proper like, eh?

:p

If it's bilger black and you break it il buy the bonnet and n/s wing.

Only 100mile away so I'd come with cash

Go and have a look t it - but personally I don't like to see cars scrapped that can be sensibly returned to the road.

Anyway, pictures please, Doo.:)

It's a little bit dark and the yard is closed... See what I can dooooooo tomorrow :D

And 4.6 should have the four pin diff, sounds like a no brainer unless it's a total wreck but still money in parts.

axles, g'box, steering box and transfer box to think of a few things worth the money, even if it has chickens living in it!! Free eggs.

No chickens I'm afraid :(

This pic is the best I could do... Smashed fog lamp putting me off though

:p

Discussed it with my wife (she HATES spending money on cars  ) But she says if I want it should get it. I may have pointed out it is worth money as a runner or a breaker. After all, 500 quid is cheap for a whole car with spare parts that can start at that price if mine should fail.

So, imagine I do buy it. I want to swap the interior from the Vogue to mine. Heated seats, electrically adjustable (mine only has height adjustment, the rest is manual). I don't really care for the sat nav as I like my Sony system. So, would I have to fanny with my BECM or would I need to take the one out of the Vogue JUST because I wanted the seats?

What if I wanted to swap the engine & box (my engine only done 25k so can't see me doing that in the near future) is there anything different on the 4.6 such as different mounts or brackets, exhausts, etc? Or is it pretty much out & in?

What are the benefits of the hp24 over the hp22 and so on....

Sell it to me chaps :p

take what you fancy and sell the rest. If you motor is as good as you say, why change it!
bearing in mind if it sits while you wait for other stuff to fail it'll be eaten away by moisture and mice..you have a lot to profit from by taking it in hand and splitting it! Otherwise fix up and sell it on and somebody else could be joining up here soon:cool:
you have all to gain!!

Let me know if your breaking or selling whole once you've got your money's worth. Il sort coming with a trailer
