Anyone know the outer diameter of the exhaust between the cat(s) and the flange for coupling to the centre box?

I want to cut the flange off, add bends and straights to allow twin pipes front to rear after the cats.

I had to order a pair of rear boxes from the local indie (Bearmach ones) so my mate & I will be head scratching as we measure & cut... But I'd rather measure twice & cut once.

I have a decent welder, but sleeving will be required for over the axle & coupling the bits together.

Also, does anyone know the best place to procure sleeved bends?

Looking at degree's 90, 60, 45, 30 (or similar) and straight sleeves to go over the cut off ends at the cats and into the various bends & straight pipe.

Thank you for looking :)

Nice to see you back again :)
Have a look at demon tweeks they do sections and bends but they are not the cheapest or loads on fleebay.

Thank you. Don't suppose you know the outside diameter of the pipe? My fancy caliper has gone boobies to the sky

Mines a dooozel so may be different, but if i remember it 69mm
i thought with the v8 you had a join from the two banks to even the back pressure but may be wrong
how`s you recovery going last heard you were seeing some nice young lady who was helping:)

The cats go into one, through a centre box and into 2 after the rear axle.

I noted that the "T" joint at the back axle was subject to extreme turns, blocking the flow somewhat and creating hot-spots which suffer heat build up and thus they rotted pretty quickly.

I want to run a single pipe front to rear for each bank and have gentle flowing bends rather than the sudden T junction.

But I rather think the exhaust will flow easier with this idea.

Just fit a standard stainless exhaust, doesn't rot out.

How much do you want to spend? there are places that will make up a bespoke system in stainless to your requirements.

Data T and aj, I actually want to mess around making my own! I just don't "get" the twin to single to twin idea o_O

I want to run a left pipe all the way back and a right pipe all the way back, just to see if there is any discernible difference in noise, power, torque, etc.

I'll bet the sound is gorgeous with no cats, no centre box and only rear boxes.

However, looking at Jetex parts, if it's too loud, I can insert a sound muffler to prevent it being too raucous ;)

Not 100% sure if I'm "back" or just dropping by on my journey. Whatever, thank you both. It's nice to feel somewhat appreciated :)

Was told by Psych that things would get worse and she wasn't lying.... But it's the pain that's giving me the most issues right now.:(

You're still in pain? That's not good. A joint not sitting right? Muscle wastage on one side? Or damaged nerve?

I think all of that & more... Tried to get a call back from the doctor at the start of September, but Atilla the receptionist started asking questions. So I told her my knee was giving me real bother. So she says "Well you need physio....!" I didn't hear the rest of her nonsense because I got a bit upset. I told her "So you think 3yrs at Raigmore Hospital physio department wasn't enough do you doctor  I said again that all I want is to discuss it with my (actual) doctor...And she went on and on about seeing a physio first. So I hung up.

Fast forward a bit, the longer I didn't call back, the harder it got until I was actually feeling really anxious about calling that number. Now normally I'm fairly robust, but I felt a little helpless so I didn't and didn't and didn't...

Started seeing the psyc and she is amazing, telling me how to relax and all that. But it still took a few weeks to call the doc. Meanwhile, I'd taken to fb to complain about Atilla the receptionist on another surgery's page ;)

on 22nd I went to my sisters for a week to look after her dogs while she went on a holiday. 1st day was fine, second day bit sore, 3rd day I needed my stick, 4th day I was almost cripple and had to go back to bed immediately after walking the dogs. Same scenario rest of the week. Had to stay an extra day just until my knee came back to earth :(

Came home, went to call doctor and same old prickly anxious feeling  Tried again and got through. Now there was a new message at the start of the call, my own doctor explaining about how reception are highly trained and bound by the code of practice to keep quiet about your case (or some such) and pretty much everything I'd complained about on the other surgery's page

I finally got through and was told I need to call at 08:00 to book an appointment! o_O Really? WTF? Told them I am not very good at mornings because I tend to stay up most of the night to try and avoid the mares :(

I called next morning after trying several times to stay calm, but stupid anxious feelings kept biting me! Got through around lunch time, but my doc SOOOO busy they could only give me an appointment at 08:10 on the 17th (oh fuckin really o_O aye, right) so I opted for a call back on the same day.

So I'll put the fear of god into the doc when she calls and tell her about the chest pains I've been having along with the palpitations, but due to the ptsd and their stupid bastard receptionists thinking they are doctors I was too worked up to call back. I'll also point out my knee is utterly knackered an all

That should start a few meetings and worried conversations

Apart from that, my neck and ankle still hurt, but the addictive painkillers are keeping it at bay/

Jesus. Didn't realise this was still going on. Can you not contact the hospital and talk to the doctor that patched you up? I'm guessing this is the only GP practice near you?

I got the physio crap when I dislocated my shoulder and had to pop it back in. The physio gave me a load of exercises that did diddly squat. I stopped doing them and it got better on its own after a few months. However, my left shoulder is now ****ed. Didn't go back in right. If I had seen a doctor rather than a physio at the time and had it put back in properly I would have been OK but the only way to see a doctor is to queue in A&E and they're overrun from people who cannot see their GP - the reason I went to the GP in the first place, rather than A&E. I'd done the first aid myself, I just needed a pro to check why it didn't feel right. The tingling was the sign it wasn't in right. Still, too late now.

The No Hope Service at it's worst. I hope you manage to get something sorted soon.

Grrrrr & DT, there are several surgeries, all much of a suchness, but I can only use the one I'm registered with.

I've been up against this from day one of the accident. The ptsd crept up on my and I'm doing my best to keep on top of it so I'm not swallowed up by it.

Anyhoo, right now I am up against more shite. Last night I went to fetch the Smart car from the mot (fail) so driving home I got pulled by the plod and raped for £100 because it was "unsafe" having failed the test. However, once they issued the fixed penalty I asked how I would get home in the pissing rain and a bad leg?

Turned out I was able to drive the "dangerous" car home! Imagine that? I told the cops congratulations for taking £100 off a disabled man who gets £443 each month. I'll be sure to toast our gallant and brave officers while I find an excuse to be unable to buy a present for my son and put the onus on my wife.... They had the decency to look embarrassed  I added that while they are just doing their job, Susan Deacon resigned from the SP Watchdog over the fundamentally flawed system. I can totally understand her point!

That and Scottish Water shut down water to our whole estate on Wednesday and never bothered to tell us... They told Crown area residents who are considerably richer than us. They even went around supplying water to affected home owners  We didn't even get a warning or an appology. So when the water came back on, I was dismayed to find we had no hot water and my wife had drained the tank earlier (because she didn't know the water was off at that point). Anyway, our supply was switched on hours later (after I had struggled up 3 flights with 20 litres of water just so I could flush the toilet and make some tea as I didn't know how long it would be off) we had no hot water, meaning our immersion heater element is likely blown. No fuses or RCD's have tripped so has to be element. Bit like boiling the kettle with no water.

Anyway, I called SW and explained. I got a properly nice lady who was thoroughly decent and she got someone to email me telling me to get a plumber to look at it and if it was caused by no water (erm, really? o_O) they would pay the plumber.

I called a few and they all said the same thing basically, "Fuck off! Scottish Water won't pay. They NEVER do!"

So I'm facing an uphill struggle and of COURSE this is the time my car chooses to need a new exhaust system. I already ordered the back boxes and am hoping to save money by manufacturing my own middle to rear pipes. But that, the Smart car fail which I was hoping to spend that £100 the filth have ordered off me in repairing the Smart so I can punt it. It already has 4 new snow tyres and a brand new battery. I also installed a bluetooth system to make it more desirable. It just seems every second I step outside I get shat on o_O

Life eh?
