My wife's P38 takes ages to drop down to access mode, the front end seems to be the slowest part. Also, when driving along it will just put itself into off road height and you have to keep pushing the height button until you get it to behave normally, and to the correct height. It holds its height overnight. Advice please. She is worried about a big dealer bill.

First thing to be worried about to be honest is your life!! can you imagine driving on the motorway at 90 mph and it then decides to go to its full (wading) hight? it will be top heavy, and if you pull the steering sharply for any reason then...... well i leave that to your imagination!! so it needs to be sorted (or slow right down) seems to be a sensor?

hi take your car to a decent independant specialist who`s equipeted with autologic , testbook , or similar and get them to do a system check to find the stored faults
rick.

Specialist has diagnosed problem as the block. Reckons the Land Rover new price is circa £1,000 but will do a second hand for £350 with 3 month warranty. What do you reckon?

If you are looking for information like i was when my P38 dumped its self on the bump stops you could try Range Rover net , its got some good information on repairs . I do not know how to do a link.
