P38 Radio sub problem.

Have the Harman K. system with steering wheel controls and rear sub woof.
The other day I parked the car on the "wrong" side of the fuel pump, between the pump and the station, probably in the wifi beam for the communication with the cash counter. When I forget myself and do this the car will not start, engine disable in the display. Pushing her a few meters away from the pump and everything is OK. But not this time, when staring and stopping her after this event, there is a loud "bump" from the sub???!!! Sounds like turning on an amplifier with bad power condensers. Then the funny thing is that when changing from preset button to another the same "bump" comes.
Anybody who has a good schematic for the amp?

People say that it's a sign your amp is on the way out.

I had the same, just started happening for no reason I could figure out.. and just as it arrived, a few days later it stopped doing it entirely and went back to normal operation.

My sub did the same years ago-I unplugged it - forgot about it for a few years-then plugged it back in-now working!

Does the Sub still work, (can you hear/feel the bass notes when playing something decent), or is it now silent?

The Sub is one component that I haven't had to strip down/repair, (as of yet), so can't offer much assistance.

From my casual glances, (and subsequent - no pun intended), summary I am presuming that the 'Head Unit' provides 'line level' audio feeds to the various speaker stations, (doors, sub woofer, etc), as each door has its own 2 channel 20 Watt amplifier, (one for mid/tweeter and one for the bass), and I am sure my Sub Woofer also has the exact same Amp bolted onto the outer casing, (may be bridged or the two channels may drive two Bass units)?

Loud bangs/pops usually associated with noise on audio feed or duff smoothing capacitors within the driver amp.

If your sub is knackered can I have one of your speakers? one of mine has a split cone.

The sub is still working, but now after another" Engine Disabled" everything is back to normal????
