o.k got a few things to try..

I have checked my service bills, Ive had the BECM replaced... that did'nt do the trick... next service they replaced the RF recevier...
Datetex, if the alternator is showing a significant leakage would this mean the alternator is duff ?

It would mean the diode pack is shot:eek:

You also need to know if the replacement RF receiver is the latest spec and not faulty as that will cause battery drain.

yep just ran some test and the "invertor pack" is f**ked, I have ordered a new alternator - hopefully this will solve the problem

Can someone help????
I couldn't pass up a deal... Or I'm thinking it was a deal. I just purchased a very clean 2002 P38 for 2k, it was my sisters. The car sat in her garage and she never really used it because of the batter drain problem. As everyone seemed to do, she changed the battery couple time but ended up with the same results of a dead battery. She hasn't started it in a year and now I have the Rover in my possesion. I hope it's worth the 2k. I can't get the thing started even though the battery in now fully charged. Can someone get me started as to something that may be causing the drainage. Apparently, the battery only lasted a day before it would drain completely.

Hi,
First I would suggest starting a new thread instead of resurecting one from 2010. Second do a forum search for battery drain and loss of sync. I think loss of sync after such a long time with a flat battery is quite possible.
