I think most people get them now as cheap alternative to a 1.6Efi Zanussi washer don’t know what they really are. Can’t blame em for liking them can I
Remember that guy offered his scrap one, thought he wanted it gone for free, £1500 for toastThose I am watching on the Bay with a reserve of £2k keep getting relisted. They just aren't moving.
I've got a list of all the jobs I think it needs to be a good car, I'll post it next time I get my laptop out. That's the deal. All or nothing!
I'm slightly tempted myself, purely for the engine and LPG. That way if my diesel goes bang I can "go green" on LPG with an appropriate adapter from a 4.0 manual scrapper. Or I guess I could look out for an HP24 gearbox too ...
How bad is it, @Wazzajnr? Is it too good to break up as spares? It cannot be that bad, surely?
I'd let it go for 600 including nanocom if you were going to get it back on the road. (400 for the car, 200 for nanocom)The wife has fallen in love with mine (even though she keeps insisting it is a bag of crap) and decided she wants one. What sort of ballpark on price are we talking? And overall condition?

I'll get some pics up and a list of all the jobs I would want to make it a good one.
Ebay is a minefield of shyte,
I wouldn't buy a car off there if you gave me the cash..
It's usually the clunkers that get listed on there for a quick shunt.
One here (similar colour to mine as well!) going for £241 at the moment! Auction ends shortly! Less than £300 notes ... albeit with a "water leak" so probably HG!

That water leak could be LPG related or front cover and indeed Headgaskets...
It is spares or repairs worth more in bits tbh..
Yes, my main issue is trailering it back! My trailer needs a new floor and the bl**dy Rangie is still knackered!
I can't imagine having to spend £5K to fix any P38 diesel. The project car I bought that had been used round the vine fields with no EAS towing a trailer and then abandoned. It has cost new air springs, valve block & compressor overhaul total around £300, new drag link, track rod and swivels plus the tools to remove and replace the swivels, not sure how much but not a huge amount, a new RAD from my scrapper and a new S/S cat back exhaust £511 plus oils and filters. Less than £1500 so far I think. It has passed the Control Technique (MOT) and runs OK. there is still work to do, mostly cosmetic.IMO it's not worth buying a worn P38 and spending 5k on fixing it
Best just buy a good one..
As for the trailer, my old trailer needs fixing I towed a 135 MF across a bumpy field with my P38 and the rear tyre on the tratter broke through the floor!!
It's been left and i have to some how drag it off the trailer without tipping it over!!
My V8 had the guts to drag it off but she's broken!! Grr..
Best wait till the old duchess is fixed
How far are you off fixing the DT

Alright, cool. Although the long haired colonel would need to sign off on it. But she is down for joining the P38 life.I'd let it go for 600 including nanocom if you were going to get it back on the road. (400 for the car, 200 for nanocom)

Windscreen is brand new, had it fitted before the insurance ran out. Ac needs regass but was a new condenser on it 2 yrs ago so the rest should be OK.I remember,
Windscreen, coolant leak at throttle body, bumper held on with wire, grumbly transmission, A/C?
