right,

I havent had the car long, and it past its MOT yesterday but.....(there is always a but:mad:) it has serious issues!

I repalce the rad this morning, vis fan, i took the thermostate out and took the middle out (have a new one to put in tomorrow) and it still over heats. been told it could be because there is no air gettin to the rad because of the air con rad etc?!

I left it running and it stayed at normal temperature, then went up the road and 5 minutes later got really hot again, took the header tank cap of and it bubbled up loads. So i started again, bled it up etc, went up the road, didnt get warm, then whe i stopped at the workshop it started getting hot again, so i revved it flat out and it went straight back down to normal temperature!

Please give me some ideas, i am at my whits end now, and its either going to end up on ebay or at the scrapyard!!!!!!:mad:

could be that your temp gauge is,nt reading true ? unless its blown the top of expansion bottle my p38,s temp gauge has funnies on it
good luck.;)

sounds like either water pump or at Idle steam bubbles on temperature sender.

Diesel or petrol? if it's diesel first stop is the water pump, some have plastic impellers and the vanes break off with age. Worst case it could be a head gasket or cracked head but you would see other symptoms.

my v8 was doing similar changed the water pump (snapped two bolts trying to get it off) and touch wood been fine since

Check the power supply/earth leads are tight on the Becm unit under the drivers seat.
I had numerous problems with mine when I bought it including the fault you describe, turned out to be a loose connection!!!
