So the plot thickens, I have looked at my 2005-2012 RRS DTCs.
I cant find a U0102 .

But all I can say is, if the car drove then broke down and was taken to a garage where some work was done I would investigate electrical connections as a first port of call.

And of course we all wait for Phil to come back with the answer :).

Definitely thickens lol

It’s such a strange fault especially the fact it shows it’s going into RND etc and the cable moves and you can hear it move in the gearbox yet the car doesn’t

Who/what gave you the codes?
As I said it may shift but as it doesn't know all is well it says "nope"

If you put the gearbox in neutral with the handbrake off can you move it?

I have an Autel mk808 and an icarsoft diag

Yeah gearbox in neutral and handbrake off I can push the car and it moves with no issues

Is there any oil in the gearbox?
Hi mark , there is , but I’m now thinking maybe too much. I had the car raised at the side so the fill plug was higher and when I started to undo the plug it started ****ing out. Would too much oil in gearbox cause the lack of movement when I gear?

There is a correct filling procedure which includes final filling at the right temperature. With the engine not running, oil will pour out. I doubt it's overfilled and I doubt that even if it is it would stop the car moving, might cause problems in use though.
Gear selection is done electronically, so corroded connectors are a possibility.

I will check connectors again just incase. Would it just be the multiplug that goes into the gearbox?

There maybe(probably) 1 to the transfer box too.
As the fault seems to show coms between the 2.

I think there is 2 to the rear of the gearbox. I’ll be back at it tomorrow. I’ve noticed there is a comms fault with the parking assist module so I will locate that tomorrow and see just incase that’s throwing everything off

Thars a good call as a lot of systems are linked and a code from one module can come from somewhere else sometimes 🤔
