Just spoken to a guy in Wales who does these. He said key could be kerput.
Send becm ecu and key and he can reprogram.
Please can you drop me a quote to do same.. Thanks. Wayne

What is the guys name as there are ones to steer clear off, before you sent anything off have word with rickthepick at Callrova he is a member on here and very well respected when it comes to p38 becm`s and sorts out quite a few ballsed up by so called experts

I have put EKA code in.
Still comes up engine disabled then goes to key lockout again.
Are all the doors responding to the key and fob. A fault on any door will cause a lock out.
Mine had a jammed rear door mechanism and it immobilized the car until it was un jammed. The car would not except the EKA either.
Before sending and spending, check your doors all respond. ;)

More likely one of the microswitches in the door is duff and not accepting the EKA. It needs all 3 switches working to tell if it is turning left or right.

They may be wrong but they don't think so. That's their opinion. Your view is different. As to what is right and wrong, that's another matter. I've never tried so no idea.
They are wrong, I have done it, they don't know how to, not my problem.

You can tell if the EKA is entering by the flashes of the little red light on the dashboard.
If your key has decent battery can try pressing lock/unlock with key in ignition. (Usually asks for this on dash message screen but worth a try)

Thanks for the pointers everyone.
3 trys and finally got it to accept eka.
I'm leaning more towards the microswitches not working every time.
Think new year will be pricey with door switches bcm ecu and key. Got to keep the old bus sweet haha

A local friend uses him a lot on his p38.
Was quoted 270 for reprogram and replacement key

Just reading through...
You said you had let code lockout, entered the eka and car went to engine disabled then to lockout again. Did you do anything to cause the second lockout? Sounds like it could have received the eka

Result but don't go replacing the becm and ecu if it's all working. Sounds like your drivers door locking mechanism is a good place to start. Don't build a list of parts to throw at it unless you know it is a repair that is needed. That's how a bad feeling of resentment starts towards the car after throwing money at it.
One day at a time sweet Jesus!
Enjoy your new '38;)

I will definitely look at the lock mech in the new year.

Martyuk does refurbed locks but he's been working out of the country. Doubt he'd come back in the current ****-storm but you never know!
